The present generation, across all sections of society and ages are leading a life with less physical activity. This is due to improved living conditions, means of transport, nature of jobs and passive activities like watching TV, etc. This sedentary lifestyle’s main characteristics include less mobility, lesser physical activity and remaining indoors. A range of chronic health issues are related to it. Recent studies are indicating that inactivity is responsible for more annual deaths than smoking. Various studies recommend at least a minimum of daily 30 minutes of outdoor physical activity by an adult person. Cycling is a healthy option. As road conditions have improved in both cities and villages, cycling can be done easily.

Regular physical activity can help protect you from serious diseases such as obesity, heart disease, cancer, mental illness, diabetes, and arthritis. Riding your bicycle regularly is one of the best ways to reduce your risk of health problems associated with a sedentary lifestyle.

It decreases your stress levels, improves posture and coordination, strengthens bones, decreases body fat levels, prevents disease and reduces anxiety and depression. Cycling is a good way to control or reduce weight. Since it raises your metabolic rate, builds muscle and burns body fat. If you’re trying to lose weight, cycling must be combined with a healthy eating plan.
